Looking for Frederick George Fell

I am looking for information on Frederick George Fell born 1874 son of Josiah Edward Fell and Elizabeth Norvill(e). Josiah died 1880 and Elizabeth died 1882. Frederick George possibly served in the Boer War; his sister Emily Maria Fell died in 1960 and her death notice indicates that 'George' was deceased.

Was there another sister called Elizabeth? born 1877 married Arthur Harfleet Marshall and died 25 April 1957.
I also found a death notice for Josiah Edward Fell, born 1871 died 8 April 1948.

Thanks for responding.

Elizabeth born 1877 and Josiah born 1871 are both siblings of my Frederick George. In addition there were also siblings Harriett born 1869 died 1948; Caroline born 1872 and died 1872 and Emily born 1879 died 1960.

I am aware of the marriage and death details of all the siblings with the exception of Frederick George.

Could Frederick have been known as George or saw this another child ?

Thanks for responding.

The Queanbeyan Riverside Cemetery index shows that the George Fell who died 7 Dec 1876 (NSW BDM 8410/1877) was aged 21 son of Joseph and Margaret (nee Milcroft or more likely Metcalfe) probably born 1856 (NSW BDM 2004/1856 V18562004 155).

He may have taken the name of the people who raised him after his mother died. Somebody must have taken the little ones in.
I have not found any Fell's who served in the Boer War.

Whilst I agree that he could have taken the name of the people who potentially raised him there are factors that mitigate against this:
1. All the other siblings married or lived under the name 'Fell'
2. The Boer war entry for Frederick refers to him as Frederick George Fell.
3. Harriett, the oldest sister didn't marry until she was 32 - a possible indicator that she had cared for OR even raised the children although she was only twelve when her mother died and as such it would seem logical that she would have relied upon others.
4. one researcher indicates that Elizabeth was adopted but the researcher was unable to provide any additional information and simply knew that Elizabeth had been orphaned and thus assumed she had been adopted.

It is worthy of note that Elizabeth Fell (the Mother) had a brother who came to NSW but evidence indicates he lived in the Hunter Valley region. I also note that a number of 'Fell' lived in or around Petersham/Marrickville; Josiah Edward Fell (the father) was most likely an only child and as such a connection to these people is unlikely although it is interesting that Josiah and Elizabeth lived in Queanbeyan where there were also 'Fell.
