Looking for George Sefton

Do you know which State he arrived in? There are a couple around that time.

Thank you for your interest. As far as I can tell he arrived in Tasmania and married a Kate Maria Sherman Watts in Hobart. I have a lot of details of him in Victoria but cannot trace his marriage certificate, which I need to go back. He had a son William Thomas Sefton who was born in Castlemaine 1862 17th August. I am doing 8 family trees and this is the only one I am having touble with and unable to continue with.
I would appreciate any information and once again thank you.

Here is one I found I say one because I found a 'TREE'. whether it is reliable or not I don't know, because I found no sources. It is the 'Tree' of somebody who claims to be a decendant of Kate Marie Sharman WATTS (note the spelling). This tree would seem to be from a ROGERs' decendant. But I suppose we have to explore every possibility. I will give you the details after I show you these registrations.

As far as immigration goes I've only found the convict George Sefton who came to Tasmania on the Antrim in 1843.
I did find an englishman travelling from Melbourne to Sydney on the Barwon in 1868 but no original immigration.

Sorry (senior moment) the convict came from Antrim on the 'Orator'. Doing too many things at once here!

I cannot thank you enough, and yes, I would say this could be it. i have found that the spelling of the names was sometimes put down incorrectly and depended on the education of the recorder. The information you have provided with marriage reg no. is just what I am after. The Rogers connection is spot on as well and I never thought of even going that way. Thanking you once again as I am able to kick off again.

Brian, I am descended through the Rogers connection. My maternal grandfather was James Henry Rogers, son of Edwin Rogers and Kate Marie Sharman (nee Watts, formerly Sefton). Aware of her marriage to George Sefton at age of 15, but have no knowledge of how Kate came to Victoria, and whether she was married at age 25 to Edwin Rogers in Tasmania or in Victoria. I am really interested about the arrival of Kate's mother, Isabelle Murray Shields and how she arrived or if possibly born in Tasmania. Do you have any info?

I think you are in the same boat (pardon the pun), as I know very little about george or kate. I am a sefton, a descendant of george and kate (george - william thomas - garnet - ian - brian. I have unsuccessful in tracking anything to do with them, as per person details etc. The Rogers seem to slip in and out of the sefton family as a phillipa sefton married a charles rogers who is related back to one of edwin and kates sons. I am sorry I am not much help, but still looking for information myself regarding this side of the family.
I am in awe of Kate married at 15 and ended up having 11 children to two husbands. Must have been some lady.
