Looking for Gibsons Who Have Connections with Haywood and OR Covington Connections IN North Carolina Primarily

I recently read part of a speech by Col. Preston Gibson. It mentions an area called Green Pond near Gibson,NC. I have other information that mentions that place. Any ideas? Both of my grandmothers were Gibsons. One married a Haywwod; the other, a Covington.
