Looking for Godfrey of New York

Looking to go back farther on my 3 time Great Grandfather, Jesse Godfrey. Born 1811 in Batavia NY, died 1844 in Hillsdale Michigan. Married Charlotte Way and had one daughter, Lossett and one son, Samuel. After Jesse died, Charlotte remarried David Kempton. I believe Jesse's father may have been Harris Godfrey, found in the 1820 census in Genesee county New York. Lossett married William A Wolcott. And info would be a great help.
