The only Huckabees I know, my mother's parents, lived in Texas in the 1900 through 1960s.
Her parents died and are buried in Belton, Texas.
The Huckabee name came into our family with the marriage of Bertie Smith and John Malcolm Hucabee of Belton, Texas. She grew up in Bartlet, Texas. I noticed on the info I got from the Rampy cousins, Huckabee is misspelled as Huckaby. Well, the -bee ending is how my grandparents wrote it. Maybe somebody out there spells it with the -by ending.
Sophie Rampy married Ferman Smith in Bartlett, Texas in 1895.
