Looking for Indian Tribe to Which My Paternal from My Mother S Side Great Grandmother Belonged

My mother's name was Carmen Hope Stephens (Maiden Name). She was the daughter of Marcus Stephens who was born around 1900 in Missouri to Ed Stephens and his wife. The wife of Ed Stephens was purported to belong to an Indian tribe in southeast Missouri, which was one of the Five Civilized Tribes. I am looking to find out the Indian Tribe to which she belonged. However, I do not know her given name(s).

If anyone out there has any information relating to any of the above, please let me know.
