Looking for Info on Bradley Family IN Birmingham England George Charles Bradley
Hi! I am trying to locate info regarding George Charles Bradley (Gr Gr) who claims to have been born in Birmingham England approx 1834. George lists his father as John (a hairdresser) and mother as Elizabeth Nash. Cannot find them on Birmingham census. I was interested to know if George had any siblings. George married and died in Australia. The other thing I am thinking is...maybe he was born near Birmingham and just reg in Birmingham. Or the family were living somewhere else nearby? It is puzzling me as I would love to know more about the 'beginnings' of this family - hope someone can help!
thanks

Hi, do you know when george left england? i am still looking for the family but as yet they are not living in or around Birmingham. Have you any other info that may help?
Hi there - thanks for your reply! The Library search conducted for me found a George Bradley who came from England on board a ship named True Briton which arrived in Victoria Aust July 1863. This was the only record we found consistent with George's age and origin. This man is listed as a gold seeker. It is possible he came to seek gold and ended up in QLD and then set up his barber shop in Roma QLD. This may not be him. Someone also suggested he may have been a sailor who 'jumped ship' as he has a a tattoo of an anchor on his arm. It appears his father John as mentioned was a barber as was his father-in-law Evan Evans. Evan Evans is found on the census as a furnace man and George's spouse is listed as 3 yrs old HANNAH Evans (as she was Winifred Hannah when she married George) I was wondering if the Bradley family lived near the Evans family? Hence the fact they were all barbers! The family were living at Wed something - I will have to locate the place....think it had field on the end. Sorry as I am bit muddled with family trees as computer hard drive blew up and I was without a computer for awhile. Winifred Hannah Evans/Bradley was born in Wolverhampton. I know George opened his shop for business in 1877 in Roma QLD. and he shows up on the census in 1877 in Roma. George also married in 1877 once again in the town of Roma and also died there in 1892. That bit is sorted!
I did write down a John, Elizabeth aged 37 & 36 with a Sarah aged 13, John aged 6 and a George aged 4, on a piece of paper I found on my notes, but it appears I did not write down anything else during my haste as at the time I was having trouble with my computer and have forgotten where I located this info. Sorry I don't have anything much else to go by!
thanks again for helping - hope something turns up
