Sinclair, who has retired from the New Zealand Police Force after 25 years' service, was met by his associates at "the Detective Office in Christchurch yesterday. Mr Sinclair served with a Scottish Regiment during the 1914-18 war, and commenced duties as a detective in the Wellington Office about 1924 He later served at Auckland and Nelson, and came to Christchurch about 10 years ago. During the recent war he acted as liaison officer between the Police and Army Departments, and was responsible for inquiries regarding aliens. He recently acted as Magistrate's Court prosecutor for detective cases. Sub-Inspector T E Holmes, Detective-Sergeants A. A. Heron and J. J. Halcrow, and Detective D.G. M Simpson, spoke at the gathering yesterday, and wished Mr Sinclair a happy retirement. He and his wife will take up residence in the Nelson province.
