Thomas Hustler's wife, Catherine Hustler, was credited with inventing the "cocktail" at Hustler's Tavern in Lewiston NY. They were also used as character's in a book by James Fennimore Cooper as he is said to have written part of his book "The Spy" at Hustler's Tavern. Their names for the book were Sgt. Hollister & Betty Flannigan.
