Baby was a boy, named Robert McGrath by his mother, then adopted by Jim and Jean Shanks and named Earl James. Born 23/02/1953, adopted about 2 weeks later. We have managed to find quite a bit of history about Rebecca and have even been to Scotland to see where she was born, but have had no luck tracing the father at all.
