Looking for Information About John Kearns Born IN 1850 IN Queensland Australia and Died 1919 IN Nsw Australia

I am looking for any information about my great-great-grandfather who was born in 1850 in Queensland, Australia. He moved to NSW in 1862 and married Ellen Law in 1879 in Redfern. He died in 1919 in Newtown NSW and is buried in Moorfield Methodist Cemetery.

On his death certificate his place of birth was Queensland although no specifics were given. I cannot find a record of his birth in the Qld or NSW BMD Registeries.

If anyone has any information or advice I would greatly appreciate any help.
