Looking for Information on Elijah Curtis Hull Parents He was Born 1804 IN New York Married IN Trumbull County Ohio IN 1828 to Jane Crooks Maybe...

Peleg married Elizabeth "Bessie" Robinson a week after Elijah and Milton married Jane's sister Elizabeth "Betsy" Crooks one year later. Milton moved to DeKalb County, Indiana with Christopher in 1836. I think these men are all related, but haven't been able to make a connection.

I am also looking for background on Christopher Hull, a brother to Milton, Peleg, and Elijah. Please contact me if you have any luck. Thanks. Jon Shively

I am researching this too! Thank you Laera for the information that you have given out.
I have searched the Tax Records in Howland, Trumbull County Ohio and found Christopher, Peleg and Elijah and also in the next pages following in some of these different year tax records I have come across a James Hull..he would be in the right age time frame to be these siblings father. I am putting that to a test and have created a tree on Ancestry with that plausible line up.

I just recently broke down a wall on my maternal side of a great grandfather who's parents and family I could not find in Ireland by finding this out by a different spelling of his surname that was used and I have a hunch the reasoning behind why we can't find the right records for Elijah in search of his father or parents.. might be because of the spelling of his given name. I have seen Elijah, Elisha, Elias, on different records.. So in saying this I would think that we can play around in our search the different spellings to see if we can breakthrough that wall.

By the way Elijah is my 3rd great grandfather DNA confirmed :-)

Keep up the great work ancestry detectives :-)

One more point to make, in the census records certain siblings would not be in under the head of the house because of the time frame of the Census, so just being a little difficult to determine who the siblings would be if they were born after the census that was taken, and the following 10 year census, the children who were born before that particular census, these siblings who were born before they would have moved or got married. Perhaps that is why the separated pages of these Christopher, Peleg and Elijah not being in the same house as James during those tax years. Keeping this in mind the dates location and names are important to follow. Pattie's Theory :-)

I'm not sure of Christopher, Milton, Elijah and Peleg are brother, cousins or both. When I looked in to James Hull he had two sons Ira and if I remember right Cyrus. When James died his will left everything to Ira. There is a book on DeKalb county, Indiana in it there is a paragraph about Christopher and his sons. I think the more of us working on these the more likely we are to get the answers we are looking for.

I agree with you Larae, glad for the team work :-)

Christopher, Milton and his wife all died in 1844 from a epidemic, I think the flu.

Thanks, all great bits of information but still looking for father of Christopher. I hope it is the Rhode Island line back to Joseph Jr (1724-1791). There was a William, James, and Sylvester in that family, which is consistent with the naming pattern in subsequent years
I am in Kosciusko County, Indiana where James (1821-1898) son of Christopher is buried. I am also near DeKalb County if I can help with any field work. Thanks again.
