Looking for Information on the Mother and Father of Edward Smith

Edward smith was born in Ireland in August 1855. In 1860 he traveled on the William Tappscott from Liverpool to New york City. He eventually resided in Brooklyn, New York. He married Catherine "Kate" Collins from New Orleans. Would appreaciate hearing about mother, father, and where in Ireland he was born.
