Hello Ngairedith thanks for all the info you have provided. Yes, these are indeed my family and Robert Joseph is my grandfather.
I am really trying to track down info relating to James who was born in Kirkcaldy. I obtained his marriage certificate from BDM but neither he nor Ann provided details of their parents! Bit of a blow but I shall keep trying.
I am curious to know more about James Augustine as I cannot track down who his parents were and wonder why he is buried with his grandparents.
Many thanks
Hi again Ngairedith, further to the info above. You might (or might not) be interested in the fact that James Kay Snr, the railway guard, was involved in the Minnie Dean story. He was the guard on the train one time when she was thought to have been "collecting" children. He appeared at her trial. Our family claim to fame, but not in a good way I'm afraid!! Cheers.
