Looking for Jeremiah Ryan Tipperary Ire
The only information I have regarding my gr-gr-gr Grandfather comes from the death record of his son - my gr-gr Grandfather Martin RYAN who died in Waitahuna, South Otago, NZ on Aug 15, 1900. This record states Martin was born in Tipperary Ireland in 1839 to Jeremiah and Johanna Ryan(nee GLEESON).
A family story tells of the flight of 3 Ryan brothers William, Jeremiah and Martin (with fiancée Johanna DWYER whom he married in London)from Kilmore, Cappaghwhite, Tipperary to Australia (where William settled) and then NZ after an incident with a gun and their landlord. A romantic notion but unverified at this stage. A sister Mary Ann Ryan stayed in Ireland and married Patrick CROWE.
I am interested in any information about Jeremiah and confirmation of my gr-gr-gr Grandmother's name. It could be Judy or Johanna and any variation of Gleason/Gleeson/Glyson.
Thanks, Janet

Hi Tammy
I think your Jeremiah Ryan would be too young. I believe mine was born about 1800 and his first child Edmund was born abt 1830.
