Looking for John Auburn Mills of Wise VA

I am married to Joseph Cicero Morrell Mills II.

I have a great deal of information about John Auburn Mills, but not about his forebears. He married Cora Addington, and they had five offspring (not in order of birth, exactly):

John Addington Mills
John Cicero Mills
Freddye Mills (f.)
Carolyn Mills (f.)
Joseph Cicero Morrell Mills

According to my husband's father's research, there was a connection to the family of June Carter. He also had a set of pressed glass berry bowls, passed down to us, which were purported to have belonged to "Senator Mills", although I haven't been able to track down who this may have been.

Any information regarding John Auburn Mills (and his siblings and forebears) would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Mrs. Mills,

This one may be a "long shot", but this "Senator Mills" got me to thinking.... Could this be Congressman Wilber Daigh Mills, from Kensett, Arkansas? My great-grandmother's maiden name was Mills, and I am related to the late Congressman (he was head of the Ways and Means Committee way back when).

And on the Carter's.... I've been told I'm related to Carters out of Georgia. Whether it be June, or the former President, I'm not sure.

Thanks

I also remembered, I've got a Mills family cookbook somewhere, which includes the family crest, and may have other information in it. Once I find it, I'll let you know.

My father's mother was Clarinda Mills. She was born abt. 1855 and died in Wise County, VA in 1901 of Tb. Grandpa was George Washington Kilbourn (b. 1855; d. 1935). I know nothing about her, except that she lived in the Meadowview area, I think, and had a brother and a sister.

Thank you for the info on Clarinda Mills. I haven't had a chance to go through the fragile documentation we have, but I will let you know if I learn more about Clarinda Mills.
