Looking for John Henry Cooper of Coalsville Leicester Born Mid 1800s

Iam looking for John Henry Cooper born in Coalsville Leicester Mid 1800s
He was my husbands Grandfather.
He was a Inspector of Police in Tanjore India in 1917.
My Father-in Law was born in Tanjore in 1916 and put in Don Bosco Orphanage Tanjore when young.Don't know why.
I can't find anything in England and India as no records that I can source.
