Looking for John Langer B 1882 OR 1887 IN New York

I have been doing research on my G=Grandfather , John Langer for approx. 15 yrs.
I have been "hitting a brick wall" and certainly would appreciate all the help that i can get. I have a copy of his marriage license stating that he was married November 6,1909 in N.Y., but what i can't find is proof of birth. His license shows that he was 22 years old,but i can't confirm the accuracy of that. Please help me if anyone can , i am almost @ my wits end.
