Some clues ... John REARDON and Louisa FITZGERALD married in 1852 NSW, from their Marriage Certificate registration (V1852272 98/1852) church code is LK which means they were Roman Catholic and married East Maitland, Maitland, West Maitland areas NSW. So I would start looking in Catholic cemeteries for burial records.

It's likely your Louisa REARDON died in 1916 Redfern NSW with parents: James and Bridget as this is the only searchable record result between 1852 and 1980. See record 10584/1916 REARDON LOUISA JAMES BRIDGET REDFERN. I cannot find a birth for Louisa FITZGERALD in NSW. Perhaps her family emigrated to Australia or settled in other States like Victoria perhaps? QLD became a separate Colony from NSW on 6 June 1859.

It's possible your John REARDON died in 1925 Redfern NSW with parents: John and Mary A. See record 10318/1925 REARDON JOHN S JOHN MARY A REDFERN. However there are at least more than 40 possible records as REARDON is a popular and common surname.

NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages

Incidentally, I found a record for a John REARDON son of John REARDON & Louisa FITZGERALD who died in Queensland 1935 (Death Registration No.1935/C3761). Source: BDM Queensland Historical Index Search

Can you please ask family if anyone has any old bdm certs to help you with your research. It can be so easy to accidentally research the wrong family.

Thankyou allycat,
I will keep searching. This one has puzzled me for quite a while.
I do know that the early nsw bdm index records are not complete on
the internet. I may try the local family history library and go to
the old fiche and search again. Thanks again for your help. jmmac
