Hi. I am a descendent of the Valentines that you're looking for. I, too, am trying to go backwards with the research. I will try to briefly list my ancestors to connect them for you. I have John Valentine being born in 1782 in North Carolina. He married Lydia Ann Beverly (1798-1860). They had a son John Freeman Beverly Valentine (1831-1878) who married Malinda Barber in Georgia. Their son was James Moritz Valentine (1867-1925) who married Nettie Yeats ( 1876-1951) in Georgia. Their son was my grandfather Leroy Patterson Valentine (1906-1992) and then my mother Maxie Valentine Moore (1937-present). I have hit a stumbling block with the parents of John Valentine (who married Lydia Beverly). So, I guess I'm in the same boat as you. If you are able to find anything, please share it with me.
Thank you,
Cheryl Barfield
