Kia ora John. My mothers name was Lillian Rakimakere (aka Tamati, Thomas, Johnston, Edwards or Stephens). Hana was her sister. There has been a huge amount of research/geneology completed so far. Here are a couple of links:

Kia ora John my grandfather was John Joseph Edwards, sister to Lillian. My great great grandparents also were Rakimakere & Kehaia Tuahuru. I am the one who has the first site mentioned in Di's post. I have done quite a lot of research on my whakapapa but not so much on your branch but would be very interested to make contact with you if we havent already.
Look forward to hearing from u
