Looking for Kirkpatrick of Arkansas

I am searching for my Gr-grandfather Benjamin J. Kirkpatrick, on one census it shows that he was b) Iowa on the 1900 census, the other census of 1910 shows him being b)Ohio, and both parents are born Scotland or Ireland, the first part of the of the word is hard to read, but does show land on the end, I am puzzled why I can not locate my gr-grandfather after the 1910 census he was only 72 yr's old.
