My 2nd great grandfather was Homer Knapp dob 1808 or 09 in Mass. USA. Homer's son Charles was my Great Grandfather dob 1845 born in New York, USA.. Charles' siblings were Marie, Mary,Katherine,William, Louisa and Frank. I think Homer's parents came either from Germany or England, that is where I am lost.
Thanks, Sharon Turnbull
The Knapp family came to America in 1630. The came to Watertown Ma. His name was Nicholas Knapp. His wife was Elinor Lockwood. They had 9 children. Do you know where each Knapp in your family was born? If you do, check where the oldest was born for records, Census, Check at court houses for land sales. Find the historical society in the area. I use Ancestry.com, FamilyTreeCircles.com, Free Family History. Some are free and some you have to pay for. I will look and see if I can find anything...
