Looking for Lee and Baird History John Lee and His Wife Sarah Temo Timo from Stewart Island Southland

Have found heaps of info re their descendants but not eithers ancestors.
Their daughter Maria Baird Lee's obituary says her father was Andrew Lee. But other documents such as the wedding register Ruapuke at 1844, say John Lee and Sarah Temo.

It is said she is Ngati Kahungunu and Ngai Tahu, but would love to find her whakapapa for my niece. Any help appreciated.
