looking for lost cornish miners

Query by lone

I had a brickwall with my husband's gr. grandfather, Richard Morcom BAWDEN/BOWDEN until I found a website "Cornish in Latin America". This is a research project by the University of Exeter.. Put in your missing miner's name and there he was, even giving details that he sent money back to Cornwall for his daughter. So, if you have a miner who has gone missing, try this website.

I'm doing work on Richard Morcom Bawden's (b 1836 or so) son, Richard Morcom Bowden (b 1857) who came to NZ. We have hardly anything on Richard, so it has been very labourious trying to work out his parentage, but I'm starting to wonder whether his brother Josiah came to NZ too. I saw another post of yours indicating Richard has the same parents as you were indicating: Richard and Eliza n Rowe. I was just writing to make a connection.
