my origional perthshire ancestor spelt his name maccara, mccara and macara variably
and was transplanted as a loyalist from his land in vermont to nova scotia

currently 5 generations later, while many of this name have dispersed from nova scotia,
about 99.9% of those in canada are related and are from this original settler/immigrant
