There were Mawbys in Leicestershire from the 1500's.
A member of the de Mautby family of Mautby Hall in Norfolk moved to South Kilworth Leicestershire and most Leics and Northants Mawbys in and around the area can be traced back to this line.
Who were Annie's parents and Mawby grandparents?

My Father emigrated to Australia in the early 1950's
Antony Gurney-Mawby he was from Leicester
I was born in Box Hill Vic (Australia)
and now live north of Sydney NSW
