Query by cin567

My great great grandda is James McIlduff (married Catherine McAlinden). Their eldest son is John H. McIlduff b. Nov 11, 1860 baptism per Roman Catholic rites and recorded in parish Drumcree (sponsors John McAnally and Mary Keena, certified by Fr. Laurence Byrne, 1905. James/Catherine also bore sons John H b. 11 Nov 1860, James b 12 Mar 1864 and Bernard b. 11 May 1866, and perhaps Patrick b 11 Jun 1870 d. 1970.

James McIlduff is in Tithe Applotment records 1828 on land in Tartaraghan. So are the McAlindens.

In 1902, the eldest John H. McIlduff b 1860 married Lena Halfpenny b. 1875 , both resided in Tartaraghan, near Portadown, Armagh. 1901 Census shows Lena's father Henry Halfpenny aged 60 as one of several Residents of a house 83 in Derrinraw (Tartaraghan, Armagh - with sisters Mary Halfpenny age 77 and Sarah Halfpenny age 65, and Halfpenny nephews and grandchildren). After emigrating to America, Lena returned to Portadown where she gave birth to eldest James Joseph (my grandfather) in 1903. In the same year, she and infant James Joseph returned to Connecticut USA where Lena/John H had more sons John H, Bernard Francis, Joseph C, and a daughter Dorothy.
