Looking for Michael Spring of Ireland

Michael emigrated to Australia on the "British Empire" in 1849 and arrived in Port Philip, Victoria. He then went straight to work in the South West District of Victoria. He met and married Euphemia McDonald in Portland, Victoria and subsequently had a very large family. Michael died in Strathdownie, Victoria in 1895 where he was the Postmaster until his retirement. He also owned and ran 2 different Pubs within the district. They were The Border Inn and the Mumbannar Inn. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am his 4X Great Granddaughter.
