Looking for more relatives of Charlotte Heyes, married to Walter Edwin Sanders - her brother John, son of Anne Tasker / Susan Symonds ?Married to Mathew Heyes ( Hayes)

Hello,
Tis is becoming confusing to me, but I am very grateful to everyone who has helped me so far, including Noggin and Asheppard .
I have been studying the details on the census provided, the anomaly of the spelling of Heyes, Hayes, i allow for the way handwriting is interpreted, as some individual characteristic flourishes and swirls in handwriting can confuse the census reader, but, the family names and groupings do correlate and I really do appreciate any help anyone can give me.

as kindly supplied by Noggin, and asheppard , respectively, is what i am perplexed about. I know that the son John should have been about 11 by the following census of 1871, but he is not listed. Of course, he could have been visiting someone else that evening. ( Did children have "SLEEPOVER'S" in the 1870's... ?) .
How far back do the census records go ? What is the likely hood of taking this family tree back to the 1600's for instance ?
I am a newbie to this genealogy, and the interest in this era of 1700's 1800's through to the first half of the 1900's has increased over the years, but this family interest has been sparked by a quest to help my mother,a daughter of William Herbet Sanders... 1903.
Thank you to all who can help me and who have helped me.

THank you Noggin, i have found this very helpful and my mother was delighted to know the maiden name of her paternal Grandmother, this was a very special piece of information.
Thank you also for helping me to understand that John Heyes the brother of Charlotte passed over before his father remarried.
