Looking for My Connection to the First Families of Virginia

According to research which has been posted on Ancestry.com by the Holland and Mills Genealogy Home Page, my Mother's maternal lineage is suppose to be linked, directly, to Sir Ralph Lane. He was the founder of Roanoke Island, VA. and the 1st govenor of VA. The posted family tree has this Ralph Lane was married to an unnamed female, and they had a son, Thomas, born 1634 in Surry County, VA.
When I did an internet search for Sir Ralph Lane, all of their information is correct except for the part about him being married. History sources have stated the he never married.
Does anyone have information as to the lineage of Sir Ralph Lane? Please contact me with this information.
