was your grandfather in the supplies corp. The man I am looking for would have served in Milne Bay around the Mullins Harbour area and he would have been with the supplies corps that organised food and other supplies to soldiers over the mountain at Giligili Airbase.
He ran a small cutter boat from Bonabona island. He had a relationship with a young British and Papua New Guinean lady and my father was a result of this.
My father was told that John Taylor had a dark hair and a olive complexion (not very white).
I have checked with AWM records and the guy I spoke to says John Fitzmaurice Taylor's army details shows he was with the Supply Corps. I was hoping if I could find some family of his they may know some of what he did in the army and also where he was based.
My grandfathers name was John fitzmaurice Taylor and i know he served on the kokoda track

Hi Gerry,
thanks for that. I just need confirmation that this is the same guy that is my grandfather as hundreds of John Taylor's served in PNG in the war.
Cheers,
Pam
Pam,
The WW2 Roll only shows one John Fitzmaurice Taylor born 12th February 1920 at Middle Brighton Victoria, next of kin was R Taylor.
