Looking for My History James Mangone
I am just starting my research and I am learning that it is not easy to find information. I lost my father in 2002 and my mother in 2003 and unfortunatly I did not press them for my history before their passing. I am trying to find information on my family and all I have to start with is my Grandfather, James Mangone, who passed away in Birmingham, AL in 1981. Please help me find my roots so that I can document them for my children.
I have done further research and I beleive that my great grandfather was James A. Mangoni (Mangone) and his wife was Setima Mangoni (Mangone). My grandfather was James Mangone and was born in Bibb, Alabama. They may have come from the area of Calabria, Italy. Hope you can help. Thanks!
Dear kmangone, Hi. A warm welcome to familytreecircles. It's never to late to 'do your family tree' and all we can do is start with ourselves and work backwards. I assure you that within 6 months you will know so much information you will hardly believe it.
Write a journal stating who your grandparents are, trying not to put full details on the living on the web. Tell us where they lived, what they did for an occupation etc. Add all your surnames you are researching in your profile/research with a commar in between each surname.
Have a read of other members' journals so you get a feel for what direction you want to take.
