I could go on all day with this could I possibly trace my mother mary kearns born ab 1912 and believe was sent to a orphanage at about 3 years old her parents were edward kearns and nora loftus (laftus) last place think she was in yorkshire was in orphanage with her sister nora and brother edward was in a different one that's all the info I have she married in 1939 to a betts
This looks like Nora / Norah's birth reg. If you send for the birth cert it will give both parents names. If they are John Loftus and Margaret Hart you could send for the marriage cert and get both father's names. We know from the census that John's mother's name was Bridget.

Sorry but I think this is about as much of Nora(h) Loftus / Kearns I can find.
Re Mary Kearns there are no records that I know of I can assess re childrens home. There tended to be homes run by the various churches, and in some areas the workhouse. The only thing I can suggest is Google for homes in and round Halifax around 1916. If you know their faith it might help. Then contact the individual head offices who might have records.
Thank you so much have hit a dead end with her every time. I know she was RC along with threst of her family and was married in st marys RC church in hendon the church no longer exists thank you will google the childrens home appreciate all your help
You could try looking for workhouse records.

And these: there are homes in Halifax and Bradford listed
