Looking for Norton S from South Carolina North Carolina Who Came to North Georgia Mid 1800 S

I'm Thomas Norton, son of Howard and Mary Norton, son of Seaburn and Ella Norton, son of Samuel and Rhoda Norton, who was the son of
Thomas P. Norton and Margarette Norton. Thomas was born Sept. 17, 1804(probably in S.C.),died April 11, 1875 in Pickens county, Jasper Georgia, burried with wife Margarette on Cove Rd.,in Norton Cemetery.
Some family members think that Gideon P. Norton, was the father of Thomas p. Norton, but I haven't been able to prove that one way or another. Gideon was born 1768 or 1774, died in 1829 either in Newberry S.C., or Macon County N.C. He was married Sarah Edmundson. Gideon was the son of William L. Norton, who was the son of Edward Norton from Armagh Ireland.
If you have any information about Thomas P. Norton that could possibly link him to Gideon, such as birth,marriage,death records, or land purchases, church records, etc... any Positive connection would
be greatly appreciated. I have noticed that some family trees link Thomas P. Norton to Gideon and go all the way to Edward, but I haven't seen any records to prove that Thomas was Gideon's son.
