I am a descendent of Eleanor Ellis w. of Phanuel Hunt. Eleanor's parents were Thomas Ellis and
Lydia Thornburgh (spelling variations exist). I have further information.

Phanuel Hunt was born in NC and came to Indiana
in 1830 with his widowed mother Mourning Wilson
Hunt and about 7 siblings.

Phanuel and Eleanor Ellis were married in Wayne County, Indiana (where I live) January 13, 1842.

Both of them were from old Quaker families but I
believe neither of them were Quakers at time of their marriage.

Phanuel Hunt and Eleanor Ellis' daughter Sarah
Jane Hunt married John Abel Baldwin. John Abel
and Sarah Hunt Baldwin were my great grandparents.
