James appeared in Rusk ,Texas in the 1850 census. He was accepted in the euclid AF&AM Lodge in 1851.
Married Sarah T. Montgomery in Grayson County 1n 1852.Had one daughter 1854,Married Elizabeth Myers Davis
in1857. they had 5 girls and 2 sons( John the youngest was my grandfather).James was shot and killed March 6,1877 in Montague County.
