Looking for Parents of John Pitts from Dallas County IN Iowa

Looking for the parents of John Pitts (b 1798)or Charlotte Pitts (b 1802) who came from England or Ireland about 1838, settling in Chatham Columbia New York before moving to Dallas County in Iowa - where John had a rather large farm. They lived into their 70's and appeared to have died in the 1870's. Their son John Wesley Pitts (b 1829 in England or Ireland) was a prominent business man (grocer)in Jamestown NY.
