Looking for Parents of Thomas Mccauley of Albemarle Augusta CO VA

We am looking for the parents of Thomnas McCauley of Albemarle (Augusta County), VA. I do not know where his parents migrated from, it might have been from Pennsylvania or Maryland by way of Scotland or Ireland. Thomas was born 1738(or abt. 1740 per family search), died in VA before June 1799, and married in 1763 to Margaret (Peggy -nickname) maiden name listed as unknown. We have found three sons, Peter b.1777, Daniel b. 1782 in Frederick, VA, and Thomas R. b.1784.
