Looking for Parents of Thomas W Smith from Smith County TN

My Smith line comes from Warren Co, Tennessee and I know that he has a brother named Thomas, but my grandfather name is Darius B. Smith and his father is Allen Leonard Smith. and his father is Edward Harrison Bedford Smith born about 1793. I would love to help you what information do you need, censuses, birth, children? I am planning to go tomorrow to my genealogy center and I think they have the books on Reynolds Co. Missouri and I can see what they have on the Smith family. Do you have any information on the rest of the family? I can bring him up in Find A Grave but since you know where he died then I guess you have those records. Or do you need those too.? Well, I tried to find Thomas but it is never easy. I could not find Thomas But I did find at least I think I found a Catherine J Smith but however she is not buried in Reynolds County, I found them in Vernon Count, Mo. The page said that she was married to a M.W.Smith Not a Thomas. Her find a grave memorial # is 114117863 His find a grave memorial is 114117853. Go to find a grave and put in those numbers and see if they could be the ones. When I put in the dates that you gave, no one comes up. I could not find a Thomas of any age in Reynolds Co. Missouri. If you have more information it would really help.It may be hard but not impossible. I may have to look him up in the genealogy center tomorrow in Smith County, to see who his parents are, and see anything else. but If I do find him I will let you know here. Nsueturney

Thank you so much for your help. My g grandfathers name is Albert H Smith and he married an Armilda Barton. My grandfathers name is Everett J Smith. I do know that Thomas married a Catherine Fitts. I don't have any further information on him unfortunately.

I want you to keep an open mind when it comes to the spelling of names or places cause there are a lot of mistakes in genealogy. So I did find what I believe is the true research that I could do.
I first put in Armilda Barton Smith, however there were two different pages on her so I did find that puzzling at first but I could understand but I am not sure if I can explain it. But Here I think will help you in the rest of the smith family. I know how difficult it can be because my last maiden name is Smith. But my dad was born in McMinnville, Tennessee and so I know where to look, and then I found the rest of the family. So Please keep an open mind and here it is: Armilda Barton Smith Born Jan 2, 1872 Reynolds Co. Mo.
Died July 31, 1952 New Madrid Co, Mo. Find a grave a memorial # 106034001 Go to her grave page and read the obituary, it also lists the children and her siblings and her death certificate- she died of labored pneumonia.
Her spouse is Robert Albert Smith Born - 1870 Reynolds Co. Mo. Died 1908 in Reynolds County, Mo. Buried in Barton Cemetery Reynolds, Missouri. His find a grave # 106034274

Now I believe that this is true. But how it got so messed up I don't know. But go on to the Find a grave for Catherine J Smith that I gave you Memorial # 114117863 Vernon Co. Mo. It states she is married to a M. W. Smith but I don't know if this is his name or maybe the Thomas got left off, But I will do some checking in Smith Co. Tennessee to see about his birth and if it is Thomas or Thomas M.W. Smith I don't know for sure but things in genealogy do get messed up simply because people don't know how tho spell when they are doing the census. But I will double check for you at the library just to see what they have down in the books so to speak. Maybe someone in your family could tell you if he had another name. I am sure that most all of the other children are in Missouri but I think there is one in Oklahoma Everett Jessie Smith born 1897- died 1964 in Oklahoma. But I will look then up for you if you want me too, If you don't then let me know ok. I will help if you asked. Thank you for everything you have done. I have a copy of the marriage certificate for Albert Smith and Armilda Barton. Thomas W Smith signed as a witness and it stated he was Albert's father and George Washington barton signed as the witness and father of Armilda. The Everett Jesse Smith that you found in Oklahoma is my grandfather. I was there with him when he died. Armilda Barton is the daughter of Catherine Reese and George Washington Barton. I know this information to be true. I just haven't been able to find anything further on Thomas, but I will keep looking. Patricia

I will also look in Smith County, Tennessee and maybe I can find his true parents and maybe it will tell me why on Catherine Smith date of birth 1836 says that she is married to M.W. Smith. and not Thomas. That is puzzling. Hopefully I will find the information and then some in Smith County, Tenn. But in doing research you do have to keep an open mind even though you believe one thing but in genealogy nothing is solid cause as I have explain I know that Thomas Signed as a witness but the only thing I could think of is that maybe he was killed in a war or maybe my accident, I don't know but maybe the answers will be in Smith County, Tennessee. I will also get some help from other researchers at the genealogy center. They are always willing to help find someone. I will let you know something as soon as I know it. Ok. Bless you.
