Looking for Petersen Fowler Family
Hello I'm trying to find information on my fathers family William Petersen who lived in Rotorua. His mother was Edith Petersen who was born 1902, and died 1981 in Rotorua I think her family Fowlers came from the Te Puke area she had 8 children, Gus, Arther, Eva, Rene,william,cora,jack,heather Heather is the only living child alive now.
I would love to find out who my grand father was and his family.

There is also a marriage record for Edith Fowler to Peter Andras Petersen in 1920

I have had a look at Archway records. There is a Peter Andreas Petersen - Probate file for 1935 in the Wellington High Court. This file is 'open' which means you can request a copy of it ($20)

Edith Petersen was married to Peter Andras Petersen and had Gus, Arthur, Eva, Cora to him and Rene, William Jack and Heather to Donald or Fred McLean from Oropi his son was Donald so not sure if father was too but have heard Fred mentioned in family. Mclean also fathered a child to Eva called Rosemary. One of Jack's Daughters is trying to find information about McLean also so am giving her this site I am a daughter of Arthur.

It is lovely to talk to you and I do not think you would remmeber me as I am the youngest child of william's and was only young when uncle Arthur passed away. Hi charrington, im Jacks youngest daughter and I have been looking at his birth certificate and he was first registered as just JACK then Petersen was added later. On his wedding certificate it has a Jack Mclean as his father. Like you say no one really wants to talk about things that went on in those days. Would like to find information on this clan too. cheers.

Hi Chandra, The name you are looking into is Fredrick McLean my sister got confused when I checked with her. His wife was a music elocution teacher he ran a bushmans gang at Oropi. I have been helping Lynette with her search too. Our family know quite a bit about what happened but it is not for public domain. Debra my sister and our family had a lot to do with Rosemary Aunty Eva's daughter. We will be coming down South in February, March next year in our motorhome and when I get the itenerary sorted I will get in touch with you and fill you in on what we know. I met you at Uncle Bill's funeral as I took Jack with me to his and Aunty Millies. The McLean family are well known in Oropi Tauranga but I don't think they would want to talk about either. Dad's father was Peter Andreus Petersen he was born in Oslo Norway.
