Looking for information of the family before they Migrated to Australia, Charles was a Law Barrister in London befor moving to autralia with his family int he 1830's, when Perth was very young and no need for barristers in such a young city, and so he became farmer in Toodyay - Western australia, before training to be an Anglican Minister in Tooday and surrounding districts. I am a direct decsendant of Reverend Charles Harper of Toodyay (formally Barrister of London UK.)

I have never seen anything recorded about the pedigree Charles Harper b:abt.1798 d:2 November 1872 it's assumed he arrived in the Colony in 1837 and was a free settler until he was ordained by the Bishop of Adelaide in 1849. If you can find his immigration record supporting the time he says he arrived perhaps it will show his birth place and parentage. I'm curious to know what evidence you have that he was a barrister in London. I'm sure if you have that record you will have an education record.
I suggest you edit your heading on this post to read HARPER rather than HARPES otherwise people will ignore it and it becomes totally useless.
