Looking for Rev.A.F.Painter of England,a CMS missionary to India

Query by kozhikunnel

Sir, Warm greetings to the Painter family.I'm K.C.Daniel aged 66 and Indian citizen.I'm looking for the family history of Rev.A.F.Painter,a CMS missionary who basically belonged to England. He established a church in our locality in the year 1882.His wife Edith passed away on June 28th,1882 a few days after giving birth to a child.Mrs.Edith had two sisters. One was Rev.C.A.Neve of Cottayam College in Travancore(New name Kerala)and the other one was Dr.A.Neve of Kashmir mission.
These are the only details available. If any one could help me to get more details about the great missionary I would be greatly obliged.
I'm a Christian belong to The Hill-Araya tribal community.Rev.A.F.Painter mainly worked among my ancestors.Recently when the old church was renovated a box has been unearthed underneath the church foundation. The box contained some ancient British coins and some print outs.
Thanking you
With regards

Hi Noggin,
I have no words to thank you for giving the link to view the photo of Rev.A.F.Painter and his wife among other contemporary missionaries, though the name of Mrs.Painter is not mentioned under the photo. Her brother Rev.C.A.Neve was the principal of the ancient CMS college at Kottayam in my place.I was happy to see his photo also. Her another brother,Dr.A.Neve was also a CMS Missionary in Kashmir in India.
Rev.A.F.Painter put his maximum effort to uplift the Hill Arrian Tribes at the Eastern part of of Kerala. My family belonged to that community.Rev.A.F.Painter established a church at the top of a mountain. The church was established in memory of his beloved wife.Last year(2013) the church was renovated and opened for service on December 27th,2013.I was also present on that historical moment. One peculiarity of the church is that it has one one entrance at the front part. Most of the churches have two side doors in addition to the main door.Rev.Painter might have thought in his mind that there was only one entrance to the Kingdom of God and that way was Jesus. If you want to see some photo taken by me on that occasion, please visit: www.facebook.com/henrybakercentre

Thank you again and wish you all the blessings for a happy new year
