Looking for Rothwell Ancestors Salford Lancashire

An ancestor of mine, James Rothwell born 1811 (I think in Salford) was the father of Priscilla Rothwell (1838 Salford to 1890 Tynemouth, Northumberland). She married Joseph Carey.
I'm trying to find any ancestors of James but the records I have acces to don't take me any further back.
Any hints ?
