Looking for Schroeder IN MN

My grandfathers name is Clifford Schroeder. My mom says he was born in Redwing MN. He was a teacher in the Detroit Lakes area And later a Professor in either North or South Dakota. I am unable to access any info because of a fire in Redwing which destroyed all records. Does anyone know of any other I can get records?
