Looking for Siblings of Johann a Sutter John a Sutter of California
Looking for siblings of Johann A Sutter (John A Sutter of California) who was born in Baden Wurtemberg area (Germany/ Switzerland)in early 1800s. I have an ancestor Ludwig Sutter b. 1825 in Lehnheim, Baden,(now Germany)but the line ends there.

My Sutter's came from either Hannover, Germany or the Netherlands. As far as I know the family ultimately settled in Wisconsin. I do not know where they might have landed, but California might be a possibility.
John Zutter was born in 183, married before 1870 to a lady who's name is Jacoba or Jacoby, and died in 1921. He nad his wife had at least 6 children, their oldest, Peter, having been born in 1870 in whichever country (Holland according to the 1880 USA census). The rest of the children, Heinrich (1871), Jane (1874), Adriana (1875), Cornelia "Nellie" (1878)*, and Jacob (1879) were born in Dubuque, Iowa.
