Looking for Simmons of Florida and South Carolina

My name at birth was Carolyn Grace Simmons. Researching genealogy and family history of my father Claude Simmons ("Sonny") 1919-1962 of Tampa, FL and his father William Capp Simmons from South Carolina and whose parents were from South Carolina. That is as far back as I have information on. I know at one time there was an annual Simmons Family reunion of my ancestor's descendants, which may still be held. I believe it was held at the original home of an ancestor whose picture was still on the wall. I don't have the name of the town or county.
