Looking for Slaytor of Michigan

My father was listed on birth certificate as LEIGH I. WERTZ SLAYTOR,43 YEARS OLD in 1949. He had me with Phyliss Jane Trosper, 28 years old in 1949 in Fort Bliss, TX. He was military and killed in 1949. I was adopted in Colorado in March 1950 to William W. & Hazel B. Tipton (military) Texas. Anybody have information on him>
