I have traced my roots to Linlithgow, Scotland circa 1610, but have hit the "wall". My Patrik Spence married Jannet Whyt and he fathered William, Elizabeth, and Edward.

Spence has an interesting history in Scotland. Through the help of others, I have learned that the occupations of the Spences in Scotland evolved from Boot cobblers to chemists to pharmacists. I am told that there is a pharmacy in Edinburgh today bearing the Spence name. Some of the Spences immigrated into the US and others to Australia and New Zealand.
