Looking for the family of Carrie Cox Stoner, Alabama
Carrie L. Cox was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1847. Family history says she married a Yankee (George A. Stoner) on Oct. 19, 1865 and her family disowned her. Carrie and George moved to Southern Illinois, Pulaski Co, where they had several children. Including my grandmother Annie Lenear Stoner Ridenhour. Other Children are Wm Henry, Lucy E., Franklin Moses, Samuel E., Edward H. & my grandmother the youngest. George Stoner died in 1884 and Carrie lived until 1929. Who were her parents and siblings? Is the story of being disowned true? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I see her in the 1880 census: STONER CARRIE 34 W AL IL PULASKI ULLIN 1880
Listed with her are George (age 34), a child named Maury (looks like Maury or Henry - not sure - can't tell the age), Lucy E age 11, Franklin age 7, Samuel E age 5, Edward H age 3, and Annie L, age 1.
George was a farmer born in NC as were his parents. Carrie was born in AL but her parents were born in SC. All the children were born in Illinois.
The 1870 census for Jefferson County, AL says: COX CARRIE 22 F W AL AL JEFFERSON JONESBORO P O 1870
She was living with the Butler Family (only initials of the family were used on the census) and says she was "At School"
I found this on genealogy.com under the Stoner forums: http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/pageload.cgi?carrie,cox::stoner::757.html
